Product Disclaimer
Please read the following carefully before requesting a quote or placing an order with Dewater Products.
Customer Responsibility at Quote Stage
Established in 2015, Dewater Products specialises in importing and selling pipeline products in Australia. We source products from over 20 approved manufacturers across 5 countries globally and do not manufacture or fabricate products in Australia. While we have strong product knowledge, we are not industry experts for every application, standard, or regulation.
It is the customer's responsibility to communicate all requirements, specifications, and intended use at the time of requesting a quote. Requirements not communicated at quote stage cannot be accounted for in pricing, manufacturing, or testing.
What You Must Tell Us at Quote Stage
Products can be manufactured and tested to a range of different standards depending on your requirements. To ensure you receive the right product for your application, you must advise us at quote stage if you require any of the following:
If specific requirements are not communicated, products will be sourced from the most cost-effective approved manufacturer at default specifications. This may not meet requirements that were not disclosed to us.
What We Cannot Detect
We rely on customers to tell us the full context of their application. We cannot independently determine:
- Whether your industry has specific regulatory approvals (e.g., UL/FM for fire water, food-grade certifications)
- Whether products will be installed in environments requiring special treatment (outdoor exposure, marine, high-corrosion)
- Whether you expect products to be manufactured or tested in Australia rather than overseas
- Whether specific weld quality, inspection standards, or workmanship levels beyond the manufacturer's default are required
Why This Matters - Real Examples
The following scenarios illustrate why communicating your requirements upfront is essential:
Scenario: Surface Treatment Not Specified
A customer ordered 316 stainless steel products but did not mention they would be installed outdoors, or that full passivation was required. Within weeks, the stainless steel began showing surface staining. Had the customer advised us at quote stage that the products were for outdoor use and required passivation, the manufacturing process would have included this treatment - at an adjusted price.
Lesson: Always specify the installation environment and any required surface treatments.
Scenario: Manufacturing Origin and Standards Not Discussed
A customer received products and was unhappy with the weld quality and workmanship. However, the customer had not requested Australian-made products, nor asked for third-party inspection or testing in Australia to Australian standards. The products were manufactured and tested overseas to the manufacturer's standard process. Had the customer specified their quality expectations, we could have sourced accordingly - or advised if the requirements were beyond our capability.
Lesson: If you require specific quality standards or Australian manufacturing, you must tell us before we quote.
Impact on Pricing and Availability
Additional requirements such as Australian manufacturing, third-party testing, specific certifications, or specialised surface treatments will generally:
- Increase the quoted price - additional processes, testing, and compliance add cost
- Extend lead times - specialised manufacturing and inspection take longer
- In some cases, we may decline to quote if the requirements are too complex, too risky, or beyond our supply capability
We would rather advise you honestly upfront than supply a product that does not meet your needs.
Limitation of Liability
Dewater Products Pty Ltd accepts no responsibility for product issues arising from requirements, specifications, or application details that were not communicated to us at the time of quoting. This includes but is not limited to:
- Unsuitability of products for undisclosed environments or applications
- Non-compliance with industry standards or approvals that were not specified
- Quality expectations that were not communicated at quote stage
- Requirements for Australian-made products that were not requested
This disclaimer should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Use, Warranty Information, and Returns Policy.
